Début of my NGO

Hello everyone, at last! The debut of my NGO has came.

I have been researching about religious discrimination for this semester and I am glad to announce that I have created my very own NGO which is called “United Soul Foundation” in other terms, “U.S.F.”

The main goals of U.S.F. are

  1. To spread awareness
  2. To provide social support
According to the results of my survey, many people are aware of religious discrimination in Japan but are not concerned. I found this fact interesting and decided to base my NGO with that fact.

To keep my NGO running, I will be carrying out fund raising charity events such as opening an art exhibition, have a film screening, and conduct charity auctions.
1)Art Exhibition
We will organize an art exhibition featuring works from artists of different religious backgrounds. This event can showcase diverse perspectives on faith, promoting understanding and acceptance, with the sale of artworks contributing to fundraising efforts.
2)Film Screening
We will organize screenings of films or documentaries that explore religious diversity ad discrimination issues. After the screening, we will hold discussions to further deepen the understanding of the audience and seek donations to support U.S.F.
3)Charity Auctions
We will host a charity auction and dinner event, where attendees can bid on unique experiences or items. We will also partner with local businesses and donors to contribute items for the auction.

U.S.F. Will be mainly functioning through social media such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc., The reason why we chose SNS as our platform is to make more youngsters aware about the urgency of the problem and to have a more accessible platform.

U.S.F.’s mission statement is as follows:
"At U.S.F., we are dedicated to fostering a world of genuine harmony, respect, and understanding among people of diverse religious beliefs. Our mission is to combat religious discrimination and promote religious inclusivity through education, advocacy, and community engagement. We strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where individuals of all faiths can coexist, celebrate their diversity, and find common ground to address shared challenges. Together we envision a future where religious differences are not barriers but bridges that connect hearts and minds, fostering a more compassionate and unified global community."

Results of my survey

Hello everyone! In this post, I will be analyzing the results of the survey I conducted. In my survey, I had 11 questions regarding if they belong to a religious group and their other experiences with religious discrimination. I had 10 responses and the results was what I thought it would be.  The pictures below are the results of my survey.   In one of my questions, which is “If you think religious is a factor of conflict, why do you think so?”, there were interesting responses. Such as Religion is diverse and everyone has different opinions about certain religion, and it cannot be bend. Middle East countries has wars because of religion In conclusion, the responses to my survey was what I expected it to be. I think the reason for this is because Japan is generally not a religious country compared to other countries resulting to near to no conflict because of religious discrimination.  This blog was written by: Yuka Koshizuka  Aoyamagakuin University Departmen...

3 perspectives about religious discrimination

Hello everyone; in this blog, I will write about 3 perspectives on religious discrimination.  The first is Aunt Suzy, who lives in a very conservative part of The United States. The second one will be about Mr. Takahashi, that lives in Japan, where religion is not much of an issue. The last perspective will be about Pastor Christine Lee from Scarborough Chinese Baptist Church.  【Aunt Suzy】        As I walked up the driveway, I saw my dear niece approaching. I greeted them with a warm smile, inviting them into my home. I was well aware that I lived in a conservative part of the United States and that my views on religion were often narrow. My faith in Christianity had always been a cornerstone of my life, providing comfort and guidance.         Sitting in my living room, surrounded by symbols of my faith, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and security. My niece, from a different religious background, sat opposite me, an...
